Description: This presentation covers key aspects of the use of depolarization and polarization in UV/Vis/NIR measurements on a variety of samples. The theory of polarized light and polarizing materials is briefly discussed along with a consideration of polarization effects on samples. Practical techniques to correct and control the effects of instrument polarization are presented using illustrative examples.
Presenter: Jeffrey L Taylor, PhD -- Senior Staff Product Specialist for Molecular Spectroscopy and Detection Systems.
Jeffrey has been involved with molecular spectroscopy for 30 years and has been a field scientist with PerkinElmer for 22 years. He is a graduate of the University Of Georgia. He supports and trains customers in areas of molecular spectroscopy applications ( UV/Vis/NIR, fluorescence, IR, and polarimetery), method development, data handling and validation. Jeffrey is also working closely with Molecular Spectroscopy product development teams to further enhance PerkinElmer's product offerings.
