• Webcast: The Analysis of Toys for Safety

Thank you for your interest in the webcast "The Analysis of Toys for Safety".

This webcast will cover the following two applications related to toy testing:

  • An overview of European and US toy regulations and analysis methods
  • Determination of lead in toys – describes the analysis of paint after extraction procedures and the total digestion of paint
  • Screening for glycols in glue coatings of toys – describes how to use GC/MS technology to identify 1,4-butanediol, instead of the prescribed, safer homologue, 1,5-pentanediol. 1,4-Butanediol breaks down in the human body to form the drug GHB, commonly known as the “date rape drug”.
