• Online Seminar: Biodiesel Analysis – Critical Quality Measurements

Thank you for your interest in Biodiesel Analysis – Critical Quality Measurements online seminar.

Description: The use of alternative fuels such as biodiesel and ethanol is becoming increasingly important. Increasing gasoline prices and the desire for reduced pollution are leading drivers to consider conventional petroleum-based fuels substituted or blended with alternative sources of fuel.

Measurements during production are critical in producing a quality product that will give the highest performance. Testing to ensure compliance with BQ 9000 and ASTM 6751 specifications are described. Details of ASTM D6584 GC testing for free and total glycerin and elemental analysis of Na, P, S, and Ca by ICP-OES are presented along with sample preparation and analytical data. Several novel approaches using FT-IR are reviewed.
