• Online Seminar: Glass and Other Trace Characterization using LA/ICP-MS

Thank you for your interest in the Glass and Other Trace Characterization using LA/ICP-MS.

Description: Trace characterization of forensic samples involves a variety of techniques to investigate molecular and elemental components. A technique of growing importance in trace metals characterization is inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). ICP-MS can measure metals in small samples or samples with low concentrations and provide a profile that can be compared with other materials of known origin. Laser ablation can be used for sample introduction, taking a very small sample and preserving the rest of the material for evidence. The technique and applications will be discussed.

Presenter: Ken Neubauer, Ph.D, Senior Scientist, PerkinElmer
