  • Module 1: Review of the major GC components
  • Module 2: Power up, initialization and overview of the main screen and icons
  • Module 3: Configuration of the GC and building/modifying methods
  • Module 4: Controlling the Autosampler
  • Module 5: Installing a capillary column
  • Module 6: Typical operator maintenance.

Automating HPLC Method Development, Robustness Testing & Validation
Duration: 1 hour and 10 minutes
Basic principles and approaches regarding HPLC method development are presented including preliminary considerations, running initial scouting runs, procedures for setting up a series of experiments (a survey), and valuable pointers on evaluating the results. Throughout, the key optimization parameters are discussed and evaluated.

Based on the initial results, suggestions are provided for follow-up experiments, including interpolation routines. These are intended to help gain additional information and possible improvements to the method.

Finally, strategies for method robustness testing are discussed as a part of initial method validation.

HPLC Troubleshooting: Recognizing diagnostic clues and interpreting chromatographic results
Duration: 117 minutes
Basic troubleshooting strategies will be applied, covering all aspects of an HPLC system. This will include discussions on how to best use all your clues in order to isolate the problem(s). Clues from instrument components, chromatograms and results will be explored. Also, various symptoms are related to possible HPLC problems and the probable causes of these problems are explored. Example data/results are diagnosed to demonstrate and promote good troubleshooting skills.
