Thank you for your interest in the “Environmental Part 1 - Water-Quality Testing by Headspace Trap-GC/MS” webcast!
This webcast describes the benefits of headspace trap-GC/MS technology for volatile organic compounds.
An expert in the environmental testing field provides an overview of the headspace-trap technology, followed by detailed results and optimized method details for environmental samples.
Details and suggestions on how to use headspace trap sample-handling technology to comply with U.S. EPA Method 8260B are given. In addition to method compliance, this technology provides significant advantages over previous sample-introduction systems. Advantages such as increased sample throughput by overlapped thermostatting, no cross-contamination of samples from using the same purge vessel and better recovery of compounds with poor purging efficiencies such as alcohols and ketones, are discussed. Both drinking and waste-water detection are shown.
The following water-quality testing applications are demonstrated:
- Analysis of volatile organic compounds by U.S. EPA Method 8260B
- Analysis of fuel oxygenates by U.S. EPA Method 8260B
Presenter: Tom Kwoka, GC Product Specialist at PerkinElmer
