  • Environmental Part 2 - Volatile Organic Analysis by Headspace Trap-GC/MS Webcast

Thank you for your interest in the “Environmental Part 2 - Volatile Organic Analysis by Headspace Trap-GC/MS” webcast!

This webcast describes the benefits of headspace trap-GC/MS technology for the analysis of volatile organic compounds in environmental matrices.

An expert in the environmental testing field provides an overview of the headspace-trap technology. This is followed by detailed results and optimized method details for environmental samples.

Part 2 of this two-part webcast is designed to discuss results that comply with current U.S. EPA methodologies (8260B) using the headspace-trap system.  An update of the progress on the U.S. EPA headspace-trap method development is also provided.

In addition to method compliance, this technology provides significant advantages over previous sample-introduction systems. Advantages such as: increased sample throughput by overlapped thermostatting, no cross-contamination of samples from using the same purge vessel and better recovery of compounds with poor purging efficiencies, such as alcohols and ketones, are discussed.

Presenter: William Goodman, GC Applications Specialist at PerkinElmer
