New Geliance™ Series Offers Labs a Single Reliable, Trusted Source for Gel Imaging Needs
ATLANTA, GA -- October 17, 2006 -- PerkinElmer, Inc. (NYSE: PKI), a global leader in Health Sciences and Photonics, today announced at Neuroscience, Booth #1148, the introduction of its Geliance™ series, a new line of high-performance bio-imaging systems for fluorescence and chemiluminescence applications that further extends the Company’s portfolio of state-of-the-art imaging equipment for academic and pharmaceutical laboratories. These instruments offer top-of-the-line optical performance, with easy-to-use hardware and software to provide researchers a choice of optics and lighting options for DNA, RNA and protein chemiluminescent and fluorescent experiments. The Geliance series has many integrated features for increased productivity, including real-time image capture that enables images to be instantly ready to print or analyzed.
“Adding Geliance to our imaging offerings, combined with our reagents and applications expertise, provides scientists with a complete, end-to-end imaging solution, said Mary Duseau, business leader for Detection and Analysis Systems, PerkinElmer Life and Analytical Sciences. “It enables scientists to keep their focus on the pace and precision of their research with the peace of mind that they’re backed by PerkinElmer’s applications and service expertise.
“Geliance imaging systems were designed to help scientists manage increasingly heavy workloads and offer time-saving operation to help labs meet their ever-compressed deadlines,” Duseau added.
In addition to the new Geliance line, PerkinElmer also offers UltraVIEW™ Live Cell Imaging, and the market-leading, high-throughput CellLux™ fluorescent and LumiLux™ luminescent cellular imaging platforms.
The new Geliance series includes:
- The Geliance 200 Imaging System – an affordable, easy-to-use, advanced resolution system for 1-D documentation and analysis. It has a standard 1.4 megapixel camera, providing a wide range of capabilities for fluorescent stains.
- The Geliance 600 Imaging System – a high-performance 1.4 megapixel, 16-bit-cooled CCD camera system for fluorescence and chemiluminescence applications. Its innovative design allows for a choice of optics and lighting options, allowing clear images of even faint luminescence for a wide range of chemiluminescence-based applications including Western Lightning PLUS, ECL, SuperSignal and LumiGlo.
All Geliance systems are backed by PerkinElmer’s complete, integrated training and support. For more information on the Geliance Imaging Family visit www.perkinelmer.com/geliance.
