How can we help you?

Environmental Analysis can mean lots of things: regulatory compliance, resource management, environmental protection, and workplace safety. We can help you get the most out of your instrumentation and your lab while achieving regulatory compliance.

Air, water, soil and hazardous waste analysis.

First, we listen. Then we work with you to identify the instrumentation, consumables, and accessories or, where appropriate, a turnkey EcoAnalytix Analyzer.

Air, Water, Soil, and Waste: Detection and measurement of contaminants and hazards in the world in which we live.

Industrial Hygiene: Analyses related to worker health and safety.

Biomonitoring: Analysis of biological fluids and tissues to assess the impact of exposure to the environment.

Application Notes of Interest

  • Determination of Thallium in Drinking and Bottled Waters by EPA Method 200.9 using THGA Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy - Public water suppliers in the U.S. must measure thallium in their water and must treat or remove the thallium if its concentration is found to be above 2 ug/L. The public health goal (MCLG) for Tl is 0.5 ug/L.

  • The Determination of Total Mercury in Soils and River Sediments Using Thermal Decomposition and Amalgamation Coupled with Atomic Absorption - This application note will focus on a rapid test method for determining mercury directly in soils and river sediments using the principles of thermal decomposition, amalgamation and detection by atomic absorption described in EPA Method 7473 and ASTM Method 6722-01.

  • Increased Sample Throughput for ICP-OES Applied to U.S. EPA Method 200.7 - This application note describes the coupling of the Optima™ 7300 DV with the ESI SC-FAST sample introduction system applied to a rigorous U.S. EPA method, drinking water/wastewater 200.7.

  • Analysis of Essential, Trace and Heavy Metals in Drinking Water by Flame AA and Graphite Furnace AA - Heavy metals are among one of the important pollutants of freshwater, which pose severe threats to the biodiversity with the development of mining, smelting and other industrial activities.

Educational Resources

We like to see our users get the most out of our instrumentation and software. A variety of useful programs has been assembled for you - some featuring PerkinElmer scientists and product specialists, and others featuring well-regarded experts outside PerkinElmer.

PerkinElmer Classroom Training

You'll find information on scientific reviews, regulatory compliance, and specific technologies. Pre-recorded webcasts can be viewed at your convenience, any time of day. Webcasts are topical and practical, with a seminar-like atmosphere.

Specific downloadable and on-line programs covering the care, use, and maintenance of your instrumentation will help you get more from your laboratory’s investment. Live, on-site training is also available.

PerkinElmer frequently schedules live events on current topics in various locations. If nothing on the schedule is convenient for you, check back for updates, or contact your PerkinElmer representative.

Instruments by Methods or Standards

We understand that in a busy lab setting, it’s not always easy to find correct and up-to-date information on methods, standards, and other application-specific information. We want to help with your resource/research needs and also make it easier for you to search for instruments by method or standard as well.

Our reference resources for air, water, soil and hazardous waste are searchable by Method / Standard or by Compound / Element of interest. Logical. Easy. Our resources are there to help you with the applications and instruments that we support. Begin searching now by selecting your area of interest: Air, Water, Wastewater or Solid and Hazardous Waste.

EcoAnalytix Analyzers

EcoAnalytix Analyzers are turnkey analytical instrument systems - bundled complete with accessories - and configured for a specific application. Each analyzer is shipped with everything necessary to get up and running, including a method-specific SOP (standard operating procedure) and a start-up supply of consumables.

EcoAnalytix Analyzers

EcoAnalytix Analyzers represent PerkinElmer’s deepest commitment to your success, and are the shortest path to the highest productivity for your lab.

New Analyzers for environmental laboratories include:

  • Ozone Precursor Analyzers the analyzer and methodology to collect and measure C2-C12 hydrocarbons
  • Trace Metals Water Analyzer for rapid determination of metals in drinking water for US EPA method 200.8 or EN methodology (ICP/MS).
